Private Cloud works by giving your business a dedicated and secure home for all of your systems, software and applications. Running as virtual servers, your systems and applications are migrated onto the Concept Cloud as an exact replica. You access your Private Cloud by connecting up to the system with the Microsoft Remote Desktop Application. For general users, a Terminal Server (also known as a remote Desktop server) is used. Everyone who connects up to this terminal server has access to the applications and programs installed. For more specialist users, a virtual desktop is provided. This gives them their own virtual PC which can be configured to run specific applications like Auto CAD or Photoshop.
To ensure that your systems are always available, your private cloud solution runs on the Concept Cloud Platform which is a cluster of highly available, resilient servers that work together to ensure you’ve always got enough memory and resources available. Should one part of the system fail, your workload is automatically reallocated to other equipment. In addition to the resilience built-in to the system, a second location is equipped with identical hardware and a mirror image of your system.
Using Private Cloud gives you a central location to store all of your data securely yet allow you to access it anywhere in the world. Unlike public cloud solutions like Office 365 and Google Docs, the system is built to your exact requirements and is only ever changed to meet your needs further. Public Cloud gives you a simple and easy way to share your files but if an upgrade comes along that doesn’t meet your needs then you’ll have to change provider.
If you need to run more applications than just Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint then Private Cloud is probably the right solution for you. Private Cloud is ideal for business which operate across multiple sites or have staff who work away from the office. It’s particularly suitable for the service sector, manufacturing and distribution businesses as well as organisations which need to run industry-specific databases or applications.
If you currently run an on premise solution where your server is located in your office, Private Cloud can give you all of the benefits of having your own system whilst providing increased security, availability and lower costs of ownership.
To protect your data, your Private Cloud system is backed up twice per day so if you’ve accidentally deleted that important report or pressed save instead of save-as and overwritten a document, just one quick call to our helpdesk gets it back.
Some of our private cloud clients have strict security policies and standards that they must meet like ISO27001 and the NHS IG Tool Kit because they store sensitive, private or confidential records. Using Private Cloud simplifies the requirements put upon their organisation because the whole system can be centrally managed to protect data.
Providing access to the system remotely doesn’t have to jeopardise data security or impose complicated company policies for managing data; because Private Cloud keeps your data in one central place, there’s reduced risk of it being stored locally on laptops, tablets or mobile phones. The Microsoft Remote Desktop service allows secure access using a wide array of devices – not only PC’s and Laptops, but also Mac’s, Windows mobile devices, Android phones & tablets and Apple iPhone & iPad.
Although the system can run over a 3G mobile phone connection, we recommend that your office has something more robust. Most broadband connections installed at home provide adequate bandwidth to allow staff to work from home without any complicated equipment. Naturally, your Private Cloud solution can be configured to restrict or control access to the system to fit your requirements.
